nekome is led by Surya, who brings over two decades of mentoring experience, having guided students, early-career professionals and senior leaders from top schools and organizations.
With an MBA from ISB and a bachelor's degree from NIT, he blends academic excellence with real world experience, perspective and wisdom.
For nearly 10 years, he served on the ISB admissions committee, and he has advised hundreds of candidates on MBA and college applications.
His accomplished career in consulting and product management, across 4 continents, has given him a unique global perspective and deep insights into building meaningful careers and lives.

When not mentoring, he can often be found playing the guitar, learning Japanese (the inspiration behind nekome), or indulging his passion for sports, movies, music and travel.
His commitment to making a difference extends beyond mentoring - he was recognized by the government of Telangana, India for setting up community kitchens to support workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a wide range of interests and a strong value system, he brings a well-rounded perspective and depth of empathy to every mentoring relationship.
